The texture quality was miserably low, and it's pretty obvious they weren't created at such piss poor resolutions. A great example was the TellTale Walking Dead games. I also occasionally have a hard time dealing with inexcusably lacking elements.

But there have been a few cases where there were perfectly usable mods that I couldn't stand because they were just too ugly. Luckily the ones that look and animate and sound better than the rest are generally just as functional or even more functional that others.

It really bugs me to have assets that don't at least get CLOSE to being up to par with the vanilla assets. One place I do get kind of picky is stuff like ArmA 3 addons. But if it's smaller stuff like you mentioned with Forza I could easily look past it if the game was as enjoyable as something like Forza. I mean, if major parts of a game don't appeal to me, sure. Sure it's awful but it's so easy to replace with exactly what you want to hear.įor me, it's usually pretty hard to put me off with presentation stuff. Just change the station and all that obnoxious noise goes away. It's sort of like complaining that the first radio station you turn to on a road trip is bad. The soundtrack is also plain While I have no issue with most of your opinions (I feel the opposite about it, but clearly Dishonored just isn't to your tastes) I think ragging on the AWFUL music in EVERY FORZA EVER is kind of silly because that franchise is the ultimate custom soundtrack game. The driving is great, but whoever thought it'd be a good idea to constantly interrupt the game with unskippable narrations by an old Brit with the flu needs to by fired. I was still able to make my way through the game, but it's such a bummer that Dishonored failed on basically every aspect but it's gameplay, because if it didn't, I can easily say that it's my favorite stealth game of all time. A boring, dry script made even worse by voice actors sleeping through their lines (not that I blame them), and to top it all off, it's got the most awkward use of a silent protagonist in a modern game. Speaking of which, the narrative was absolutely terrible. I also didn't like how people in general looked. The plague added nothing to the games narrative. The game's need to remind me of this by programming all the NPCs with a disgusting coughing loop didn't make it any better. Yet, another Steampunk environment where people don't feel well. The powers were all fun to use, the level design was excellent, and even though I would've like more offensive options (more guns and melee weapons), even the combat was even enjoyable.Įverything else, however, is quite awful. or even something as simple as an unwieldy menu. By presentation, I mean graphics, art design, voice acting, etc.
